To generate electricity:

The heat generated by natural gas is warmer than the heat generated by an electric pump. More than half of American homes use natural gas to provide heat, hot water, and fuel for cooking. More and more companies are using natural gas for space heating because it is cheaper than electric heating.
For the Process of Cogeneration and Trigeneration:
The technological process of combined heat and power generation, or simply combined heat and power generation, allows both electricity and heat to be used at the same time.
